Courses & Procedure

Intake Capacity : 450

Eligibility :

To apply for admission into First Year class of Higher Secondary course of commerce, a student has to pass

                      (i) H.S.L.C. Examination under Board of Secondary Education, Assam.

                      or

                      (ii) Any other equivalent Examination recognized by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council.

Admission Procedure:

1. Application for admission into the college should be made in prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of requisite fees.

2. Admission into college is made strictly in order of merit and is governed by admission rules. Decisions of the Admission Committee regarding admission are final. All admissions are strictly on merit subject to the reservation for caste quota (SC/ST (P)/ST (H)/OBC/MOBC) as per the standing rules of the Government of Assam. An attested photocopy of the caste certificate must be attached along with the application form for admission. Any application form without an attested photocopy of the caste certificate will be considered under general category. No claim for caste benefit will be entertained if the original caste certificate issued by the appropriate authority and countersigned by the DC/ADC/SDO/SDC concerned is not produced at the time of admission.

3. Any pressure and interference from any quarter for the admission of a particular student will result in forfeiture of his /her application for admission.

4. Candidates are required to produce at the time of interview the original copies of –

          (a) Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination

          (b) Age proof certificate

          (c) Character certificate from the Head of the institution last attended.

          (d) Caste Certificate from competent authority wherever necessary.

        (e) Students passing the qualifying examination earlier than the current year will have to submit a Gap Certificate from the Head of the institution last                 attended.

5. No application form shall be accepted after the last date as notified and the application form submitted incomplete will stand automatically cancelled.

6. The applicant along with his/her guardian must remain personally present at the time of interview for the admission.

7. Admissions are provisional and subject to the approval of AHSEC.

8. Admission into H.S. Second year will take place immediately after their H.S. 1st year Final Examinations are over.

Intake Capacity : 600

Eligibility :

To be eligible for admission into B.Com 1st Semester class, a student has to pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination in Commerce, Science or Arts stream under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or any other equivalent Examination recognised by the Gauhati University. Preference will be given to candidates having commerce in 10+2 level.

Admission Procedure:

1. Application for admission into the college should be made in prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of requisite fees.

2. Admission into college is made strictly in order of merit and is governed by admission rules. Decisions of the Admission Committee regarding admission are final.

11. Admission into B.Com. 2nd year and B.Com 3rd year will take place immediately after the completion of Second Semester and Fourth Semester Final examinations respectively.

Eligibility :

A student who has passed the B.Com Examination (three years course) of the Gauhati University with Major or any other University recognised by Gauhati University is eligible for admission into M.Com 1st Semester class.

Admission Procedure:

1. Application for admission into the college should be made in prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of requisite fees.

2. Admission into college is made strictly in order of merit and is governed by admission rules. Decisions of the Admission Committee regarding admission are final.

3. All admissions are strictly on merit subject to the reservation for caste quota (SC/ST (P)/ST (H)/OBC/MOBC) as per the standing rules of the Government of Assam. An attested photocopy of the caste certificate must be attached along with the application form for admission. Any application form without an attested photocopy of the caste certificate will be considered under general category.

M.Com. First Semester admission will take place immediately after the declaration of the B.Com. Sixth Semester Examination Results and classes will start on a date to be notified by the College Authority.

NB : Each paper carrying 100 marks is equivalent to 6 Credits.

Duration : Three Years (Six Semesters)

Eligibility :

To be eligible for admission into BBA first semester class, a student has to pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination in Commerce, Science or Arts stream under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or any other equivalent examination recognised by Gauhati University or the three year Diploma in Engineering recognised by GU with at least 40% marks.

Admission Procedure:

Online/Offline applications will be invited from eligible candidates for admission into BBA 1st Semester classe for the Session 2020-21. The candidates may apply online through the college website (www.gauhaticommercecollege.in) by paying the requisite fees.

Admission into college is made STRICTLY IN ORDER OF MERIT AND IS GOVERNED BY ADMISSION RULES . A Personal Interview will also be held on the day of Admission. Decision of the Admission Committee regarding admission is final.

Mode of Payment :

The eligible candidates will have to pay Rs. 20,750/- (Twenty thousand seven hundred fifty five) only at the time of admission to the first semester class which is a part of the Annual fees. The balance will have to be paid at the time of admission to the second semester class.

Eligibility :

To be eligible for admission into PGDCA first semester classes, a student has to be a graduate of any discipline.

The pgdca course conducted by our college is underGauhatiUniversity, and is of one year duration consisting of two semesters. The course is open for all graduates of any discipline. The new course starts in June / July every year.

Admission Procedure :

Application for admission into the college should be made in prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of requisite fees. The Admission is on the first come first serve basis of the candidates having good academic results.

Classes :

The classes commence in the weekdays (Monday to Saturday) in the afternoon periods.
